Ashes 2015: Nobody is safe from chop, says Adam Lyth
Under-pressure opener Adam Lyth believes the axing of Yorkshire team-mate Gary Ballance from England’s squad for the third Investec Test against Australia next week is proof that nobody’s position in the team is safe.

Selectors responded to England’s 405-run drubbing by Australia in the second Test at Lord’s, which levelled the series at 1-1, by dropping Ballance and replacing him with Jonny Bairstow.
Ballance averages 47.76 for England, but only 16.75 this summer.
“This shows nobody is safe,” said Lyth. “Gary is averaging almost 50 and he now finds himself out of the side, so if you aren’t scoring runs you aren’t in the side.”
