But it is hard to get away from your desk sometimes, so thousands of workers will be delighted to hear that Pret has today signed an exclusive delivery deal with Deliveroo.
Now City workers who work through their lunches can get their BLT delivered directly to their desks, with Deliveroo taking orders from 8am to 8pm for the sandwich chain.
Pret head of ecommerce Lucy Revill-Darton said: “Exclusively partnering with Deliveroo not only allows us to bring Pret to even more people across the UK, but also makes it easier for our loyal customers to enjoy their favourites from our menu, wherever they are.
“Everything from our salads, to our sweet treats, can travel directly from our shop kitchens to our customers, meaning our freshly prepared food is also freshly delivered.”
Susanna Voces, VP of restaurants at Deliveroo, added: “Working with Pret exclusively across the UK is amazing news, we couldn’t be happier to offer their amazing food and drinks to our customers.”
Pret recently swallowed Eat’s chain of restaurants in a merger, and has vowed to turn as many of them as possible to vegetarian stores.
The Veggie Pret stores will serve a growing demand for more vegan and vegetarian options, the firm said.
Meanwhile today Deliveroo pledged to expand to another 50 UK towns and cities this year to reach another 6.5m UK homes.
Bracknell, Maidenhead, St Helens, Wrexham, Gravesend, Folkestone, Banbury, Hastings, Braintree, Folkestone and Margate can all expect Deliveroo to start serving up local meals soon.
