London Report: UK’s corporate calendar packed in results season
THE CORPORATE calendar is packed this week, as businesses including ITV, BP, Lloyds, Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland update the market amid a swathe of other results.
The week begins with figures from Fidessa Group, Hammerson, InterContinental Hotels Group, Intertek Group, JKX Oil & Gas, Keller Group, Senior, Vernalis, Reckitt Benckiser Group, National Grid, Gem Diamonds and Creston today.
Tomorrow’s highlights include BP and Next, as well as Games Workshop Group, Wolfson Microelectronics, Barclays, Brammer, Capital & Counties Properties, Domino’s Pizza Group, Drax Group, Elementis, Hutchison China Meditech, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, LSL Property Services, Pace, Telecity Group, Tullett Prebon, Weir Group, African Barrick Gold, GKN, International Personal Finance, ITV, Ensco, Telecity Group and Diploma.
On Wednesday, Angle and Diageo give full-year results. Finally on Friday International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (CDI), Inmarsat, Man Group, Rentokil Initial, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Vesuvius and William Hill are set to reveal their latest earnings.
It is also a busy week for economics news, starting today with reports on net lending for housing and mortgage approvals for June, net consumer credit for June and July retail sales figures.
Tomorrow’s reports include the Lloyds Business Barometer and BRC Shop Price Index, the Gfk Consumer Confidence survey and Nationwide House Prices data, all from July.
On Thursday the Halifax House Prices for July is set to be released, along with UK manufacturing data for the month. Construction data follows on Friday.
Also on Thursday, the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee will decide whether to retain the long-standing bank rate of 0.5 per cent.
