London knife crime: Two boys stabbed to death in Woolwich and Vauxhall
Within hours of each other, two teenage boys have been stabbed in London.
A 15-year old was stabbed in Woolwich just before 17:30 pm on Monday. Police were called to Oval Place, Vauxhall to reports that a 16-year-old boy was stabbed six hours later.
No arrests have been made regarding the Oval Place stabbing, however a 15-year old boy has been arrested in connection to the woolwich stabbing. He was also found with stab wounds upon his arrival at a South London hospital. His injury was not seen as life-threatening, according to the Met.
Details of the Woolwich stabbing
The 15 year old boy was found with a stab injury on Woolwich New Road. Paramedics were pictured by the public holding up sheets to protect the boys privacy and attempt to nurse the wounds.
Although paramedics attended to the boy, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 18:10 pm. The knives were visible after the attack and an arrest has been made.
Details of the Vauxhall stabbing
The 16-year-old boy also shared the same fate as his counterpart in Woolwich. Paramedics and police were called to the scene at 23:45 pm, where he was pronounced dead.
“Unfortunately, as shocking as it is, it’s not uncommon,” said one resident of Elworth House near the site of the stabbing.” A resident of Elworth House- near the stabbing had said.
“You always have issues here. It’s really bad,” he said.
London mayor Sadiq Khan had said: “Every loss of life leaves a family and a community devastated. My thoughts remain with the victims’ family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“I am determined to do everything in my power to support the police and our communities to put an end to these horrendous crimes and keep our young people safe.”
