Kaymer edges out Westwood
GOLF: Germany’s Martin Kaymer beat England’s Lee Westwood in a sudden-death play-off to claim victory in the French Open.
Westwood fired a final-round 65 with seven birdies and a bogey to take the clubhouse lead at 13-under-par before Kaymer held his nerve to par the 18th for a 68 and force the extra holes.
Westwood though found water at the first play-off hole, leaving Kaymer, 25, to clinch a third European Tour success.
