It was just banter says Sir Philip Green on sexual harassment allegations
Under-fire Topshop boss Sir Philip Green dismissed sexual harassment and bullying claims as “banter” over the weekend.
Last week in the House of Lords Peter Hain named Green as the tycoon at the centre of a series of sexual harassment claims which the courts had prevented the media from reporting.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday at a spa ranch in Arizona this weekend, Green, 66, strenuously denied allegations of harassment and bulling and said the last week had been “the worst week of my life”.
“I’ve been in business for more than 40 years. There has obviously from time to time been some banter, but as far as I’m concerned that's never been offensive,” he said.
Green also blasted ex-Northern Ireland secretary Lord Hain on Saturday, branding his behaviour “disgusting”.
“Peter Hain's behaviour is just disgusting,” he said. “People can take the law into their own hands? Decide they don’t agree with three senior judges?”
