Aim awards 2015: Junior market reaches fever pitch at the London Stock Exchange
Awards season is officially in full swing, and the team behind Aim at the London Stock Exchange sure know how to party.
About 1,300 guests from Aim-listed companies, as well as brokers, bankers, analysts, corporate advisers and fund managers descended on Old Billingsgate to celebrate the secondary index’s 20th award ceremony, sponsored by PwC.
Fancy mixer-maker Fevertree Drinks picked up the best newcomer award after floating on index last year, while fashion website ASOS scooped an award for the best performing share over the life of the market – up from a market cap of £12m in October 2001 to the present day £2.43bn.
The real star of the night-long party was Irish comedian Dara O’Briain, who kept City big-wigs entertained well into the early morning. The Capitalist hopes that share prices aren’t too affected by everyone’s hangovers.
Despite having prime place at the awards, Fevertree’s tonics and sodas were snubbed at the party itself in favour of another leading mixer maker.
