JP Morgan reshuffles top execs at corporate and investment bank
A NEW top team was appointed to head JP Morgan’s corporate and investment banking (CIB) arm yesterday in a major reshuffle of talent at the institution.
Daniel Pinto became the sole head of the arm of the giant bank last month, when his co-head Mike Cavanagh quit the firm.
Pinto sent out a memo to staff, seen by City A.M., detailing changes to management across the business lines.
Carlos Hernandez has been promoted to co-head of global banking, alongside Jeff Erwin.
The role puts the pair in charge of corporate banking, treasury services and investment banking.
Previously Hernandez has run the mergers and acquisitions business and the bank’s capital markets arm.
Most recently he was head of investor services, a job which will now be taken by John Horner.
In the same unit, Guy America and Matt Cherwin will become co-heads of global credit, securitised products and public finance, while James Kenny and Troy Rohrbaugh will become co-heads of global rates, foreign exchange, commodities and emerging markets.
The sales and marketing division will be led by Marc Badrichani in the Americas, while Alessandro Barnaba and Sikander Ilyas will step up from heading the unit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to become co-heads of international sales and marketing.
The CIB’s research unit will be headed up by Joyce Chang.
Finally Takis Georgakopoulos takes over strategy at the CIB as chief of staff.
