JP Morgan Caz retains its lead in adviser rankings
JP MORGAN Cazenove continues to lead the City’s broker adviser tables, according to the latest rankings from Hemscott.
JP Morgan finishes the first quarter of the year with 241 clients, well ahead of Numis Securities which is in second place with 113 clients. Among FTSE 100 clients, JP Morgan Cazenove is again well in front, leaving Merrill Lynch and then UBS in its wake.
In the battle of the law firms, Slaughter &?May, where Nigel Boardman is a corporate finance star, heads the table with two gains to take its tally to 114. Pinsent Masons remains in second place despite losing two clients.
In terms of financial advisory briefs, the smaller caps broker Seymour Pierce retains top spot. But it has lost two clients in the quarter, leaving it vulnerable to being caught by JP Morgan Cazenove which is only two clients behind.
It has been a testing quarter for auditors with all top five firms registering client losses. Perennial leader KPMG tallies eight clients fewer than last quarter to finish with 389. Despite this, the firm maintains a healthy 55 client lead over second-placed Deloitte, which finishes the quarter with 334.
In the FTSE 100 table, PricewaterhouseCoopers, headed up by Ian Powell, remains firmly entrenched at the top.
In the battle of financial PR, Brunswick has extended its FTSE?100 lead to seven after Finsbury lost two clients – Cadbury and Friends Provident – to takeovers.
