JP Morgan Caz is City’s top adviser
JP MORGAN Cazenove continues to lead the City’s broker adviser tables, according to the latest quarterly rankings from Hemscott.
The company has 244 clients, a gain of three since the last quarter and more than double its nearest rival. Second-placed Numis Securities gained five new clients to bring the total to 118, closing the gap slightly.
JP Morgan Cazenove also led the field in advising the biggest companies for the quarter ending 4 May, with 33 clients from the FTSE 100.
Second placed Bank of America Merrill Lynch has added one further client for its sixth gain in a row, taking the firm’s tally to 33. With an unchanged client total, UBS continues to claim third place. A single gain allows Morgan Stanley to join Deutsche Bank in fourth place.
KPMG retains the lead in the overall auditor rankings after adding two clients. Deloitte drops to third behind PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), having experienced eight losses.
PwC keeps its title as top FTSE 100 auditor, winning one client in the last quarter to bring its total to 41.
JP Morgan Cazenove’s success also extends to the financial advisers rankings, where it overtakes Seymour Pierce to win the overall top spot with 93 clients.
Slaughter and May is still the only law firm to list more than 100 clients, and remains the frontrunner for advising FTSE 100 and 250 companies as well as first in the overall rankings. Herbert Smith is the only other law firm to increase its total number of clients.
The latest quarter has been difficult for financial PR firms, with most of the leading firms losing business. Financial Dynamics keeps the top spot, having lost six clients in the last three months. Brunswick stays in front for FTSE 100 clients, gaining one to bring its total to 28.
Capita still leads the overall registrar rankings with 1,152 clients – more than double the number of its nearest rival, Computershare, which gained 11 clients. Equiniti continues to lead the FTSE 100 table with 53 clients.
