Glen was brought into the position by Theresa May during the previous regime and has been in place for 18 months.
Taking to Twitter to thank the new Prime Minister, Glen said: “Very pleased to be reappointed by the Prime Minister as Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last 18 months in the role and look forward to keep fighting for the City and for financial inclusion.”
Previously the 45-year-old, who has held his seat in the Conservative stronghold of Salisbury since the 2010 general election, was the Parliamentary under-secretary of state for culture, media and sport.
And prior to that he was the private parliamentary secretary to chancellor Philip Hammond, following May’s appointment as Prime Minister in 2016.
He has also sat on House of Commons committees for work and pensions, defence and arms exports controls.
During his tenure he has been favoured by the City compared with some of his predecessors and has previously spoken of his staunch pro-business stance in line with other senior Conservative members.

Although there was disappointment at the part he played in the government’s decision not to pursue the City’s preferred Brexit route of a mutual recognition agreement with Brussels.
Brought into the key City role ahead of the Brexit deadline, he will now remain the key point of contact between the City and the government ahead of the new Brexit date set on 31 October, when Johnson has claimed the UK will leave the EU with or without a deal.
