Jeremy Paxman signs three-book deal worth £1m
The details of Jeremy Paxman's illustrious 42-year career at the BBC will be revealed in a three-book publishing deal worth almost £1m.
Through the book deal, which was signed with publisher William Collins, Paxman will reveal details about some of his most famous interviews with politicians.
He became known for his direct and at times abrasive interviewing style, which saw him ask then Home Secretary Michael Howard the same question twelve times in a row.
In the first volume Paxman will look at how Britain has changed over the last half century, while the second book will focus on his time at the BBC, according to the Sunday Times.
The content of the third book is yet to be decided.
The veteran broadcaster left the Newsnight in June this year, after 25 years of presenting the flagship current affairs show. After leaving he lamented the programme as "run by 13-year-olds, for whom, at that age, it is perfectly normal to want to change the world".
He was thought to have been one of the best paid news presenters, earning a reported £800,000 a year for multiple roles.
Earlier this week, it was revealed he had been approached by the Tories over candidacy for the Mayor of London. However, Paxman later said that he wouldn't do the job for "all the eclairs in Paris".
