Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive had fun with Lily Allen and Daisy Lowe at Sushi Samba anniversary party
Apple’s notoriously quiet design chief Sir Jony Ive may have only been back in the UK for a few days, but he took time to rub shoulders with the likes of Lily Allen and Daisy Lowe at Sushi Samba’s second anniversary party last night.
Ive and PR guru Matthew Freud propped up the bar drinking some bubbly and trying to sink into the background of a heavy fashion crowd. “It’s tremendous up here,” Ive told The Capitalist. “Really happy to come along.”
The crowd enjoyed a performance from Allen, who sang some of her classic tunes such as LDN, Smile and Not Fair. Were Ive and Freud looking forward to her performance? “Always!” smiled Freud.
And those lucky enough to have access to the balcony VIP area soaked up a long DJ performance from designer Henry Holland.
Meanwhile, the crowd in the main entertainment area made do with occasional appearances of shimmying celebs such as Pixie Lott and Jaime Winstone.
Sadly, Heron Tower tycoon Gerald Ronson kept his distance, sending some of his brood, including David, Lisa and Henrietta Ronson instead.
Maybe Lily Allen’s tunes aren’t quite Gerald’s thing.
