ITV names Microfocus finance boss as new CFO
ITV today confirmed the appointment of a new chief financial officer.
Chris Kennedy will join in February 2019 after finishing up his current role as CFO of Microfocus, where he has served only since January 2018.
"This is an exciting time to be joining ITV,” Kennedy said. "I'm looking forward to working with the team to execute the strategy and deliver value for shareholders."
"Chris was the stand out candidate in a very strong shortlist and the board are really pleased that he will bring his experience and expertise to ITV,” said channel chairman, Sir Peter Bazalgette.
“He has a great media background from his 17 years at EMI and he has built on that as a CFO of three FTSE 100 companies.”
Chief executive Carolyn McCall added: "I am really pleased to be working with Chris again as CFO. He will play a huge role in helping us deliver our new More Than TV strategy and I know he will work really well with the senior leadership team of ITV."
ITV recently ditched plans to return to its South Bank headquarters, which it bought for £56m in 2013, following a revamp, preferring to sell them instead.
Last month saw its shares rise after it dropped out of a race to buy Endemol.
Microfocus will replace Kennedy with former Telecity and Paysafe CFO Brian McArthur-Muscroft.
The business has struggled since it acquired Hewlett-Packard’s software business for $8.8bn, which took the British firm into the FTSE 50.
It said today that full-year revenue would come in at the higher end of previous weak guidance.
