It’s the start of British pub week – here’s a list of some of London’s best boozers
Today marks the start of British pub week, and because we know you’re a hard-working bunch, we’ve put together a list of London’s top-rated boozers on that great hospitality authority, TripAdvisor.
1. The Duke Of Argyll, Soho
This large pub provides a good range of traditional organic wheatbeers, ale and stout, all of which are made with no additives or chemicals. The bar staff are happy to recommend beverages that match the type you normally drink.
2. The Crown and Shuttle, Shoreditch
An award winning craft beer pub, the Crown and Shuttle has a beer garden at the back where you’ll also find a food truck. This airy gastropub offers an array of craft beers – cask to glass London ales, lager and crafty bottles.

3. The Ship and Whale, Rotherhithe
One of the oldest original pubs in the area, this historic family-run pub offers very good food with a friendly service to match. Tuck into an old-fashioned roast or opt for burgers and chips at reasonable prices.
4. The Rising Sun Pub, Carter Lane
Offering a proper pub feel in the heart of the City, reviewers of the Rising Sun credit its friendly ambience and welcoming staff – who are even willing to play your favourite tunes. Located close to St Paul’s and clearly geared towards office workers, there’s limited seating so be prepared to stand. It’s also worth checking out “The Fat Bear” restaurant upstairs.
