It could be better for your teeth to binge-eat all your Easter eggs, according to oral health experts TePe
If you were planning to binge-eat all your Easter eggs this weekend but haven't been able to justify why yet, there's some good news coming your way.
It's healthier to eat all your chocolate in one go rather than eking it out over a long period of time, according to oral health experts TePe.
"Over Easter, while the very thought of a steady and unregulated intake of chocolate and yummy treats is a tempting one, your teeth would much prefer that you eat your Easter treats all in one go rather than throughout the day," TePe said.
"Eating your chocolate immediately after your meals reduces the number of acid attacks on your teeth."
TePe have also offered some expert advice on the least harmful ways to indulge in a chocolate fest over Easter.
First, don't graze: it takes our mouths between 20 minutes and two hours to re-balance the decay-causing acids which are produced by eating sugars, so grazing on chocolate and other sweets keeps the teeth under constant attack.
Eating your chocolate immediately after your meal is also a much more tooth-friendly way of enjoying chocolate, as there is already more of a barrier in place for when you start indulging in sugary foods.
