Ireland’s second string enjoy rout
IRELAND’S understudies ran in six tries during a comprehensive 49-7 victory against Georgia in Dublin yesterday after head coach Joe Schmidt made 13 changes from the side which dispatched South Africa last weekend.
Ireland held a 9-0 advantage at the break before prop Dave Kilcoyne and hooker Richardt Strauss both crossed the line as the home side chalked up a 23-0 lead, while second row Giorgi Nemasadze reduced the deficit.
Full-back Felix Jones scored twice during a strong Irish finish as Simon Zebo and Stuart Olding also touched down, with fly-half Ian Madigan adding a total of 19 points with the boot, including five successfully kicked penalties.
