International Women’s Day 2016: Goldman Sachs girls celebrate with Sir Martin Sorrell and London’s fashion royalty at the National Portrait Gallery
Senior women from Goldman Sachs and marketing mogul Sir Martin Sorrell took time out from their busy schedules to celebrate International Women's Day with fashion royalty.
Partners and execs from the bank teamed up with models and designers, including the creative talent behind Kate Middleton's iconic blue engagement dress Daniella Helayel, at the National Portrait Gallery to try on a few outfits themselves.
Sadly for our bankers, there were no royal blue garments in sight. Instead, Helayel designed a range of bright orange numbers for the party.
Last night's dresses were inspired by Middleton's iconic outfit, and are set to go on sale next month in support of the LDNY Foundation's anti-violence Women United campaign. Half of the proceeds will go towards towards the UN Trust Fund.
Singer Camilla Kerslake, Loose Women's June Sarpong, party-planner Yasmin Mills and model and Olivia Inge, model and descendant of 19th Century British PM William Gladstone, were among the showbiz elite at Monday night's party.
Michelle Pinggera, partner at Goldman Sachs, said: “It is fantastic to see the senior women of Goldman Sachs coming together to celebrate female leadership and also use their voices, their profiles and their convening power to advance such an important social issue.”
WPP chief Sir Martin Sorrell was one of the few men invited to the female-focused party, but escaped changing into an orange dress. Sorrell chose to rock the hue in a more understated way, pairing an orange tie with a darker, demure blue suit.
Looking good, Sir Martin…
