Insurer Axa brings Ireland business under scope of new UK boss Amanda Blanc
Insurance company Axa has announced that it will bring its Ireland operations under the remit of Amanda Blanc when she becomes CEO of Axa Insurance, UK & Ireland, on 1 January 2016.
Axa Ireland will continue to run as an independent entity, but will report into Blanc. Axa Ireland will be headed by Phil Bradley and will continue to have its own board.
Commenting on the change of remit, Blanc, who is currently CEO of Axa Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary, said: “Now that we have emerged from the turnaround phase of our development, it is important that all our insurance operations are under common leadership.
“This not only allows us to share best practice between the UK and Ireland operations, it allows us to project a unified business and brand to our markets and create greater consistency in how we approach our customer groups.”
The move is part of an ongoing restructure by the insurance company to align the UK’s operations with the global Axa Group.
