Huhne faces fresh speeding questions
EMBATTLED cabinet minister Chris Huhne came under renewed pressure at the weekend over allegations he asked someone else to accept penalty points on his driving licence for a speeding offence.
The energy secretary’s position appeared to worsen, after it was reported that he could be gearing up to change his version of events.
He was said to be prepared to tell police this week that he could not be sure whether he was driving his car when it was caught travelling over the speed limit by a camera in Essex in 2003.
It is alleged that the MP asked his estranged Vicky Pryce to take the points in order to avoid a driving ban.
Huhne is fighting for his political life over the allegations.
