Huawei has thrown itself full tilt into the global consumer phone market with its P9 and P9 Plus, featuring Leica lenses
Chinese telecoms group Huawei has unveiled its latest handset, meant be its flagship device in a push into the European market currently dominated by Samsung and Apple.
Huawei has has teamed up with German camera maker Leica for its new P9 model that uses duel lenses, a feature though to be included in Apple's upcoming iPhone 7.
The latest models – the 5.2-inch Huawei P9 and the 5.5-inch Huawei P9 Plus – were unveiled at an event in London earlier today.

Huawei claims the duel lense means the camera will be able to create shots more commonly associated with larger lenses using a shallow depth-of-field.
The launch of the phone kicks off what Huawei says will be its largest ever global marketing campaign.
The Chinese company has previously aimed at the low to mid market, it's devices being priced significantly under the likes of Apple, HTC and Samsung, but this latest move puts them in direct competition.

Both models of the phone will go on sale from 16 April around Europe, the Middle East and China. The price for the 3GB version of the P9 will be €599 (£484), while the 4GB variant costs €649 (£524). The larger P9 Plus costs €749 (£605).
Huawei's consumer business posted annual revenue growth of 73 per cent in 2015 to $19.9bn (£14.1bn). Huawei's last flagship phone, the P8, sold around 5m units.
Rival smartphone companies have been struggling recently in the face of a stagnating market, forcing industry leader Apple to introduce a new, smaller phone.

Samsung, HTC and Apple have also faced fresh competition from the likes of LG, Lenovo and budget Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi.
