How to ski your way to an investment in the French Alps
As the ski season approaches, it’s perhaps time to consider where you’ll end up this December. Most good skiers are regular ones, so rather than give your money up to the same resorts every year, why not turn your winter holiday getaway into a foreign investment opportunity?
That’s what Alpine property developers Sotarbat is hoping you’ll do as it launches its first collection of apartments at Les Monarques, overlooking Mont Blanc in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The 42 one, two and three bedroom apartments are part of Edenarc 1800, one of the first mega-resorts in France, and with its connected sister ski-resorts, it encompasses 425km of snow-capped pistes.
Perched at an altitude of 1,830m, its impressive height ensures residents have a longer ski season as it guarantees more snow during the winter months. When the place isn’t draped in a picturesque white blanket, it attracts golf enthusiasts as it’s next to a 27-hole course, making it a good letting prospect when you’re back in London.
The apartments are due to be finished in June 2016, but they go on sale next month. Going on 70 per cent off-plan sales for their four star apart-hotel at Edenarc 1800 – set for completion in June – the developer has high hopes for their new collection at Les Monarques.
“It’s clearly striking a chord with second homeowners and investors who want to enjoy the luxury lifestyle and make the most of their precious leisure time, but also have the benefit of an excellent guaranteed rental income during the year,” says Sotarbat co-founder Robert Jerome,
All interiors, from the curtains to the cushions, come with the apartments, and they even include home comforts like dressing gowns and slippers.
The Companie des Alpes and the municipality of Bourg-Saint-Maurice have invested €35m into the area in recent years, with host of new attractions and amenities coming soon.
Prices from €184,000 for a one-bedroom apartment on a leaseback scheme, to €992,000 for a three-bedroom apartment outright. Visit edenarc1800.com, email contact@edenarc1800.com or call
