Horse Racing Betting Tips: There’s Moore to come from Stoute’s pair
TRAINER Sir Michael Stoute and jockey Ryan Moore can rekindle the magic of their former association by landing a quickfire double at Newbury tomorrow.
The pair team up with the lightly raced ADAMANT in the opening Dubai Duty Free Handicap (1.45pm), who bounced back to form at Chelmsford last month after disappointing at Newmarket on Guineas weekend.
Having made a pleasing reappearance over this course and distance back in April, it appeared to be the extra two furlongs that may have caught him out on the Rowley Mile.
The drop back in distance worked last time and he made a mockery of his mark of 90.
Things will be tougher from an 8lb higher mark in a better race tomorrow, but he has been given plenty of time since being gelded last summer and the patience of connections can be rewarded.
There look to be plenty of dangers including the likes of Mountain Angel who looks a winner waiting to happen.
He was an unlucky loser at Sandown when stepped up to this trip for the first time earlier this month and can go well with his stable starting to hit top gear.
However, I expect Adamant to build on his last run and land the money at 4/1 with Coral.
Stoute and Moore can follow up 35 minutes later when they combine with MIRAGE DANCER in the Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup Stakes (2.20pm).
The four-year-old’s only disappointing run all season came at Royal Ascot when caught out by the drop back in trip to 10 furlongs in the Wolferton Stakes.
He got going too late that day, finishing fast to grab fifth and connections correctly stepped him back up in distance on his last two starts.
Having been touched off by Best Solution in the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket’s July meeting, he went on to bolt up in the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood.
He should have no problems carrying a 3lb penalty for that success here and the 6/4 looks worth snapping up.
Young Rascal hasn’t been seen since finishing seventh in the Investec Derby and William Haggas’ three-year-old would be a threat to all if returning back to form.
However, he may just need the outing and a bit more than the 6lbs he gets from Mirage Dancer.
Recent winners of the Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (2.55pm) include the likes are Ribchester and Harry Angel, but I’m not sure we’ve got one quite like that in there tomorrow.
Karl Burke had an incredible time in Ireland last weekend, landing a Group One double with Laurens and Havana Grey.
With his team clearly in a rich vein of form, I’m going to take a chance on his TRUE MASON to bounce back to winning ways on his return to British soil.
The son of Mayson has been highly tried since winning his Nottingham maiden back in June.
Having finished a close-up third in the Group Two Prix Robert Papin at Maisons-Laffitte in July, he then went on to finish a gallant third behind Pretty Pollyanna in the Group One Prix Morny at Deauville.
He had good horses in behind him that day, including Glorious Goodwood winner Land Force, and is in much calmer waters here.
The 4/1 on offer looks too big for a colt that we probably haven’t seen the best of yet.
