Hong Kong Horse Racing Tips: Lui hoping Lady Luck will smile on Golden boy Vincent Ho
YOUNG local jockey Vincent Ho has proved to be one of the success stories so far in Hong Kong this season.
The former Hong Kong champion apprentice has been riding on the crest of the wave all season and currently lies fourth in the jockeys’ championship with 26 winners.
That total reads all the more impressively, as Ho has already surpassed last season’s record of 24 winners with six months of the current campaign still remaining.
The 28-year-old spent a month riding for Mark Johnston during the summer, after being recommended by Ryan Moore, and rode a winner on his first ride for the stable at Haydock.
Since returning to his homeland, he has never looked back. He has already ridden winners for nine different stables this season and produced a career high when piloting a successful four-timer at Sha Tin in October.
His most successful partnership this season has been with local trainer Francis Lui – the combination has already visited the winners’ circle nine times and there could be more to come at Happy Valley.
They team up with recent winner Racing Luck, who has to overcome the outside draw and defy a penalty in the finale at 2.50pm, but he still looks to be progressing.
However, their best chance of success should be GOLDEN CANNON in the 12.15pm over the extended mile.
He can be considered a winner without a penalty after suffering a narrow defeat when denied a clear passage as he mounted a strong late charge down the home straight a fortnight ago.
Hopefully Lady Luck will smile on him this time!
