Henry: Critics made me think about quitting
FRANCE striker Thierry Henry admits he considered quitting international football after his infamous handball made him public enemy No1.
The former Arsenal skipper provoked a storm when his illegal act helped defeat Republic of Ireland in last week’s World Cup
play-off. And the Barcelona star says he almost quit Les Bleus after French chiefs let him face the angry criticism on his own.
“Friday, when it all went too far, I was very worked up,” said Henry. “Despite everything that happened and the fact that I felt let down, I will not let my country down.”
Meanwhile world chiefs Fifa will discuss the handball row at an extraordinary meeting next week.
