Headhunter acquires rival to capitalise on high growth in clean-tech industry
HEADHUNTER Kinsey Allen International has acquired rival recruiter Ruston Wheb.
The global financial recruitment specialists secured the deal for an unspecified amount, and will use niche environmental recruiter Ruston’s expertise to grow in the clean technology (clean-tech) sector.
Part of the Wheb group of companies founded by financier Ben Goldsmith, brother of Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith, Ruston started trading in 2000 and grew to become one of the most successful clean technology executive recruitment firms, having completed more than 300 board level appointments since its inception.
Kinsey Allen prizes the strength of the environmental sector, and established a clean technology division in August this year in order to capitalise on high-growth prospects.
Ruston will incorporate Kinsey Allen’s cleantech division to create one specialist environmental executive search firm, led by Ruston’s Ian Jenkins under the Ruston Wheb banner.
Ken Brotherston, Kinsey Allen chief executive, said: “Clean technology is the most exciting sector in the global economy, in money terms invested and in its importance and interest from private equity funds and governments investing in the area. It’s only going to grow in the future so it’s hard not to be excited about it.”
