Head coach Eddie Jones adds flanker Matt Kvesic and back-row forward Josh Beaumont to England squad
England head coach Eddie Jones has added forwards Matt Kevesic and Josh Beaumont to his 25-man training squad ahead of Sunday’s Six Nations clash with Italy in Rome.
Gloucester flanker Kvesic and fellow back-rower Beaumont of Sale were included in Jones’ original 33-man squad before being released and allowed to return to domestic rugby.
Kvesic was part of the Gloucester side that defeated Bath at The Rec on Friday, while Beaumont scored the only try of the contest as Sale ended Leicester's unbeaten home record in the Premiership.
England’s matchday squad that was on duty during their Six Nations opener against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday, as well as travelling reserves Maro Itoje and Elliot Daly, have all returned to their Surrey base at Pennyhill Park ahead of this week’s training.
The Red Rose opened their Six Nations campaign with a 15-9 victory over in Australian Jones’ first competitive match in charge. England are the early leaders of the championship table after one round of fixtures.
