Hailo picks up third new chief executive in three months
TAXI app firm Hailo yesterday appointed its third chief executive in as many months, as the British so-called e-hail firm looks to close the gap on rivals such as Uber and Lyft.
The company has drafted in Andrew Pinnington, a former chief operating officer of Carphone Warehouse. He spent 12 years at the British mobile phone retailer before leaving to work on startup ventures, including supporting private equity firms on potential investments.
Pinnington succeeds former Hailo chief executive Tom Barr. Living in North America, Barr has reportedly found it difficult to manage the London-based Hailo while trying to raise a young family.
“Andrew brings the perfect skill set to help us drive Hailo through the next stages of our international growth and development.” said Ron Zeghibe, Hailo’s executive chairman and co-founder. “He understands e-commerce, has great experience of managing a multi-national business through a period of rapid growth and has operated in both large corporates and start-ups.”
