USwitch.com mobiles expert Ru Bhikha said: “Google is determined to build on the successes of the Pixel 2 and has launched two new handsets that both boast powerful hardware and sleek design.
“The handsets, like their predecessor, place the camera front and centre. These top of the range shooters boast features like the new ‘Top Shot’ and ‘Color Pop’, with the former allowing users to capture photos at exactly the right time with its burst functionality.
“The quicker charging functionality of the new Pixel brings Google in line with other high-end flagships from the likes of Huawei, Apple and Samsung.
“Google is also aiming to take wireless charging tech, which has been pretty gimmicky in the smartphone space so far, and make it entirely usable.
“Interestingly, Google has not followed suit with other premium smartphone manufacturers this year, which have all released handsets which tip over the £1,000 budget. Instead, the Pixel 3 and XL shoot for premium specs but without the accompanying price tag.”
