Good Energy’s profits double as its customer base rises sharply
GOOD Energy, the Aim-quoted renewable energy firm, yesterday reported a 136 per cent rise in full-year profits to £3.3m, as more customers switch from the big six.
Good Energy’s electricity customer base went up 25 per cent to 40,000, while its number of gas accounts jumped by 76 per cent to 15,000.
“Our rapid customer growth, including from households generating their own power, demonstrates the growing appeal and value of renewable energy,” said chief executive Juliet Davenport.
Revenue rose 43 per cent to £40.4m, from £28.2m in 2012.
The company said it anticipates further growth this year, as customers move towards cleaner sources of power.
Good Energy is looking to deliver 50 per cent of its electricity supply from its own capacity by 2016.
