Goldman Sachs settles sex discrimination case with City high flyer
The Goldman Sachs banker who sued her former employer over claims of discrimination has settled with the bank out of court, it was confirmed this morning.
Ms Sonia Pereiro-Mendez, who failed to turn up for her tribunal against Goldman today at the Central London Employment Tribunal, left a tribe of journalists and photographers bemused for several hours after the hearing was suddenly postponed, sparked rumours of an out of court settlement.
Rumours of a settlement were confirmed at 12:30 when the claim was formally dismissed.
Richard Leiper, representing Ms Pereiro-Mendez, said the parties "had resolved the claim". The statement was confirmed by Daniel Stilitz, representing Goldman Sachs.
The ex-Goldman Sachs exec claims she had been discriminated against for being a woman, and said the discrimination got worse after she got pregnant.
