Goals Soccer Centres lines up new pitches as sales increase
GOALS Soccer Centres hopes to open more five-a-side football pitches this year after reporting a strong end to 2013.
Overall sales for the year increased by three per cent to £33.5m and like-for-like sales were up by two per cent, in line with market expectations, the company said.
Goals had delayed further new centre openings since 2012 in order to focus on cash generation. As a result, net debt has fallen from £54m at 30 June 2012 to £46m.
The firm currently has 43 centres in the UK and one in Los Angeles. Goals said it will start launching more sites this year, “subject to satisfactory prevailing economic conditions”.
“The company has made significant progress during the year and has focused on building the foundations needed to accelerate future growth,” said chief executive Keith Rogers.
