Gimme 5 … Wonders of property tech
Barclays Pingit App
A partnership between Barclays and estate agent Savills led to the first house being bought by app at auction in February. The buyer transferred a £23,000 deposit in seconds by scanning a Savills QR code into the app. Available for free on Android and iTunes, Savills now uses it at every national auction.
PrimeNewDevelopments.com
Set up by former Sotheby’s International Realty manager Charlie Smith, this free website enables homebuyers to search for residential and resort property abroad to remove the need for remotely-based international estate agents. It includes distance from airports and completion dates.
Grainger3D App
Specialist residential landlord Grainger has commissioned digital creative agency i2o3d to create this free app, available on iTunes. Once installed, download marketing brochures for its developments and they interact with the app to transform images into 3D models of new properties.
NovaLoca.com
Most people have heard of Rightmove and Zoopla for residential property listings. But NovaLoca, which specialises in UK office and commercial space, has accumulated around 22,000 properties from 900 agencies for its search engine. There’s also an app available for free from iTunes and Android.
Illustreets.co.uk
This free app and website helps you choose a place to live in England based on data from the Office of National Statistics and other public agencies. The interactive map displays localised information on topics as varied as crime, demographics, housing stock, house prices, transport links and schools.
