Games cost trimmed by £27m
OLYMPICS: London 2012 chiefs have cut £27m from the cost of staging the Games in response to the government slashing public spending.
The savings have come from efficiency measures and procurement gains, a report published yesterday revealed.
In total the Games will now cost the public sector £9.3bn.
Minister for Sport and the Olympics Hugh Robertson said: “With over two-thirds of the construction phase complete, we are in an excellent position.”
