Galliford Try wins £55m of school projects
GALLIFORD Try said yesterday that it has won two new contracts in the education sector worth up to £55m.
The FTSE 250’s construction business Morrison Construction will refurbish four primary schools in Scotland after being appointed preferred bidder by Moray Council.
Its building business has also won a £38m contract in Hull and East Riding as part of the goverment’s priority school building programme (PSBP), set up to address the needs of schools most in need of urgent repair.
Galliford’s executive chairman Greg Fitzgerald said: “Education remains a cornerstone for our Building business across the UK and we are delighted to have been awarded these contracts. We look forward to working with our partners to create school buildings fit for the provision of a high-quality education for their pupils.”
The deals will further help boost Galliford’s construction and building order books, which stood at £2bn and £3.25bn at the end of the first half to 31 December.
