Four Commanders can strike for Mouse in Irish National
THE racing fare this weekend is pretty poor and there is nothing really to get stuck into on Saturday or Sunday. However, we do have the Irish Grand National on Easter Monday and I like the look of FOUR COMMANDERS, who was tipped up in this column for the four-miler at Cheltenham last month.
Mouse Morris’s six-year-old, a brother of Kicking King, ran a cracker to finish third and looked like the winner for a long way before just running out of puff coming up the hill. The drop back to 3m5f should suit perfectly and he is worth backing each-way at a general 10/1.
There are a number of dangers lurking in the line-up and the one I’d be most scared of is Allee Garde, who fell in the four-miler. Willie Mullins’ inmate has some really solid form from earlier in the season behind Last Instalment and he has to be a big danger.
I’ll be up at Aintree next week and there will be Punter pages on both Thursday and Friday. Follow me on Twitter @BillEsdaile for all my views.
