Jeremy Clarkson: Former Top Gear frontman helps Amazon Prime promote drone delivery
Amazon has hinted at delivery by air drone and has called in none other than former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson to lend a hand.
According to an accompanying FAQ page, which was put live today, Prime Air drones will be able to deliver packages of up to five pounds in 30 minutes or less, while flying at a height of under 400 feet. In the teaser trailer, Clarkson announces that there are plans for a whole family of delivery drones.
Plus, it looks probable that the little robots will feature on this side of the pond too, as the online retail giant has Prime Air development centres in the UK, as well as the US and Israel.
However, you may have to wait for the dream to become a reality, as the FAQ page also says that the drones can only be deployed once the company has the necessary regulatory support.
