Former FSA boss Sants in talks to take up a post at Deloitte
FORMER financial watchdog boss Hector Sants is in talks to take a new job with professional services giant Deloitte, a source said yesterday.
Sants, who is on gardening leave after quitting the top job at the Financial Services Authority in June, is in discussions to join the firm next year.
However, his job description remains up for negotiation, and the firm is unlikely to announce his appointment soon, the source added.
Before joining the regulator in 2004, Sants worked for Credit Suisse First Boston as an investment banker.
Having presided over the FSA during the financial crisis, he has plenty of experience in the ongoing regulatory overhaul faced by the banking industry.
Deloitte declined to comment yesterday, while Sants could not be reached.
