Former City minister Mark Hoban moves to London Stock Exchange
EX-TREASURY minister Mark Hoban MP was yesterday appointed as a non-executive director at the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
The qualified accountant was responsible for liaising between the government and the regulators from 2010 to 2012 as financial secretary to the Treasury.
From 2012 to October 2013 he was employment minister.
As a result the LSE is keen to take advantage of his intimate knowledge of the regulatory system, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
The Conservative MP is stepping down from his parliamentary seat at the general election May.
“Mark brings extensive knowledge of UK politics and the regulatory agenda that impacts our business,” said LSE chairman Chris Gibson-Smith. “His experience will be of great value as we drive our business forward in an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory environment. I very much look forward to working with him.”
