Forex trader and Chelsea FC partner CWM FX’s website is down
Forex trader and Chelsea Football Club partner CWM FX's website is down – and the company has so far been unable to explain why.
The website cwmfx.com currently says simply “We are sorry for the inconvenience” and directs users to contact the team by phone or email.
When City A.M. called, however, no one was able to answer the question as to why the site was down. We're still awaiting a response.
In January, CWM FX struck a three-year deal with Chelsea FC to market its foreign exchange products and services across Chelsea’s digital media channels.
Earlier this month, the financial services firm made a reference to a police raid that had taken place in Heron Tower, in which 13 people were arrested by the City of London fraud squad.
The company's account @CWMFX tweeted: “CWM FX is operating as normal. Merely an AML [anti-money laundering] enquiry & had no correspondence to us.”
The tweet was deleted later in the day. CWM FX denies that it has been raided by the police or that it has been implicated in any investigation at all.
