Football betting tips: Wolves and Hornets to play out Wembley stalemate
WOLVES manager Nuno Espírito Santo has been tipped as a potential replacement for Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri this summer and it’s not difficult to see why.
The former goalkeeper has guided his side to seventh in the Premier League table in their first season back in the big time, having won last year’s Championship title with 99 points.
A seventh-place finish would be enough for Santo to bring European football to Wolverhampton for the first time since the 1970s and that would put him among the nominees for manager of the season.
But what makes it more impressive is that Santo has also managed to juggle FA Cup commitments. Progression from the early rounds looked unlikely when they were matched with Liverpool.
However, Santo and Co more than showed their capabilities to progress with a 2-1 victory.
Having beaten Shrewsbury, Bristol City and more recently a Manchester United side that dumped Arsenal and Chelsea out of the tournament, fans will be dreaming of lifting the trophy.
Watford stand in their way at Wembley this weekend and if truth be told there is very little to split them, with just one point separating the two sides in the Premier League table.
Hornets boss Javi Gracia also deserves credit for his side’s form this season.
They may have had an easier run to the semi-final in beating Woking, Newcastle, QPR and Crystal Palace.
But you can only beat what is in front of you and they arrive at Wembley following a confidence boosting 4-1 demolition of Fulham at Vicarage Road.
It’s likely to be a cagey affair with both sides knowing what’s up for grabs, so take the 9/4 available on the draw.
