Football betting: Table-topping Leicester to continue to surprise against Arsenal
Leicester have made a habit of proving people wrong this season.
Going into last Saturday’s trip to Manchester City, there were plenty, myself included, who expected it to be the day the bubble would burst.
What followed was one of the best Premier League away performances in memory, with a 3-1 win that puts them five points clear at the top.
They visit Arsenal on Sunday with the finish line starting to come into view.
While the Foxes travel to Emirates Stadium full of confidence, the same cannot be said for their hosts.
The Gunners were winless in four before last week’s game at Bournemouth, and hadn’t even scored in their previous three matches.
Arsenal fans must bemoan their side’s lack of ruthlessness – they should be comfortably leading the table, but sit only a point above fourth.
However, they did show enough in that win at the Vitality Stadium to suggest they still have it in them to continue their title bid.
Alexis Sanchez is back after three months out through injury, but more importantly, Francis Coquelin is fit again too. The Frenchman could be key in halting Leicester’s feared counter-attacks on Sunday.
When looking at these two teams, it’s difficult to split them.
Betway offer 3/1 for the draw and, with neither team wanting to lose ground on their rivals, I’m tempted by that.
Arsenal beat the Foxes 5-2 when these two met earlier this season.
Sanchez scored a hat-trick that day in an end-to-end game, but I don’t see it being as open again on Sunday.
Claudio Ranieri has tightened up his defence drastically since then, conceding just twice in their last eight.
Given Arsenal’s recent attacking woes, this could be a tight, low-scoring affair.
