Football Betting: Foxes to continue trot to title over tired Hammers
When relegation candidates Leicester beat West Ham 2-1 at the Boleyn Ground in August, it seemed like a terrible result for the Hammers.
Eight months later, and with the Foxes on the brink of winning the Premier League, that reversal doesn’t look quite so bad.
The two sides meet again at the King Power on Sunday lunchtime, with Leicester seven points clear at the top, and just three wins away from sealing what would surely be the most remarkable title of all time.
A 5000/1 shot at the start of the season, Leicester are now 1/6 with Betway to lift the trophy and, to be honest, I can’t see any other result.
They’re 4/6 with the same firm to beat West Ham this weekend, and I think they’ll do that too.
West Ham started their season with Europa League qualifiers on 2 July, and their tired FA Cup performance against Manchester United on Wednesday looked as though there wasn’t much left in the tank.
The two big games in five days against United and Arsenal appears to have taken a lot out of the squad. Versus a Leicester side that thrive on overrunning their opponents, I think this will be a match too far for the Europe-chasing Hammers.
While the first half of the Foxes campaign was built on attacking flair, the second half has been formed on defensive solidity.
Leicester kept only three clean sheets in their first 18 games, but have had 11 shutouts in the 15 matches since.
They’re currently on a run of five in a row without conceding.
Spread betters can sell goals at 2.6 with Sporting Index which I advise doing.
