Flybe chairman quits as airline undergoes restructuring
The English-based airline Flybe has said this morning that its chairman Jim French will be replaced by Simon Laffin, after 23 years with the company. French leaves as the company undergoes a strategic review to restore profitability. (Release)
Laffin, who is currently a director of Quintain and the former finance director at Safeway, will replace French with immediate effect.
French, who became chief executive officer in 2001 and chairman in 2005, stepped down as chief executive officer in the summer. Former EasyJet executive Saad Hammad took over the role on 1 August. Hammad has begun a restructuring of the arline, along with a series of management changes. A strategic review is due to be completed this month.
