Flower back in coaching role
FORMER England cricket coach Andy Flower will take charge of the Lions in next month’s limited-overs triangular series against New Zealand A and Sri Lanka A.
Flower was appointed England’s technical director of elite coaching after his resignation following the disastrous winter Ashes tour and is expected to play a key role in developing players.
Nottinghamshire’s James Taylor will captain England’s second string, with fast-bowler Steven Finn named in the squad alongside Ravi Bopara, Jason Roy and Middlesex’s Ravi Patel.
This selection indicates that Lions players are not in contention for the last two matches of the seniors’ Test series against India.
