Flats with no windows are now on sale in Brixton for £465,000
Flats with no windows have gone on sale in Brixton for £465,000 as part of a development that estate agents have described as a “sanctuary of calm”.
The “luxury development” is an office conversion on Acre Lane, near Brixton tube station. The property developers Build Consultants have been working on the block of one and two-bed flats since September 2014.
Two of the eight flats under construction will have “light wells” instead of windows – shafts that allow light through a glass panel in the roof.
Beresford Residential estate agents have posted CGI images of the properties on their website and say that the flats promise to be “welcoming and perfect places to unwind, fitted with bespoke kitchens and bathrooms”, and they they offer a “stunning open plan modern feel.”
The estate agents tell prospective buyers not to rely on the images provided online as the “final layout and specification is subject to change”.
All the flats will be fitted with hardwood floors throughout, kitchens with granite tops, and essentials such as a dishwasher, an electric cooker with oven, and a fridge/freezer. But carpets in the bedrooms are only provided “subject to prospective buyer’s requirements and offer price”.
“There can be no equivalent in SW2”, the estate agents say.
On Streatham Hill, SW2, there is a three-bedroom Art deco flat available for £450,000.
