Fixtures and fittings of West Ham’s Boleyn Ground set to go under hammer
West Ham fans are to be given the chance to own a piece of club history when the Boleyn Ground’s fixtures and fittings go under the hammer during auctions over the next month.
The Upton Park doors will close for the final time at the conclusion of Tuesday's clash with Manchester United before a summer move to the Olympic Stadium – West Ham confirmed yesterday that 52,000 season tickets have been sold.
As for the present, items as diverse as the iconic John Lyall Gates, which have a suggested starting bid of £5,000, dug-out seats, a programme seller’s stand and the ‘Academy of Football’ flooring at the end of the tunnel will be available to purchase.
Two separate sales will be held, one for stadium contents and the other for football memorabilia. All proceeds are set to be given to the club’s academy. Vice-chairman Karren Brady said: “We are delighted to make a select collection of artefacts available for auction.”
