A man has been hospitalised after a lift he was trapped in plummeted 30 feet this morning.
The lift dropped three storeys from the fifth floor of the building, on Austin Friars in EC2, to the second. The man was rescued by crews from the London Fire Brigade and treated on the scene, before being sent to a nearby hospital.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service told City A.M.: "We were called at 10:52am to Austin Friars to reports of a person trapped in a lift.
"We sent multiple resources including a single responder on a motorcycle, an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team to the scene.
"We treated a man for back and leg pain and took him as a priority to Royal London hospital."
The London Fire Brigade sent crew from Whitechapel and Shoreditch fire stations.
