FinnCap top of the Aim listings again for 2014
FINNCAP topped London’s Alternative Investment Market (Aim) rankings for another year, it was revealed yesterday, as the most in-demand stockbroker and nominated adviser on the market.
With 104 broking clients and 93 clients for which it acts as nominated adviser, FinnCap remained at the top of the annual Aim league compiled by Adviser Rankings.
But FinnCap, led by chief executive Sam Smith, faced increasing competition from close rival Cenkos Securities which gained three stockbroking clients and two nominated adviser clients (overtaking FinnCap in terms of the market valuations of the businesses) while FinnCap lost one stockbroking client last year.
Zeus Capital, the investment bank led by chief executive John Goold which advised on over £1bn of funds raised on Aim this year, broke into the top 20 rankings of brokers for the first time as the 18th largest stockbroker on Aim. BDO took pole position as the largest Aim auditor last year with 158 clients, while Newgate was the largest financial PR firm with 82 clients.
