Sweden’s Landvetter Airport evacuated over “serious” threat after suspicious packages found
Part of Sweden's second largest airport Landvetter has been evacuated following a "serious" bomb threat made this morning.
The domestic hall has been evacuated and cordoned off, the paper reports.
Although there is limited information at this stage, Swedish paper Expressen is reporting that the airport, which is just outside Gothenborg, received threats against it earlier this morning that were "deemed serious".
"There is an external threat leveled at Landvetter," Swedavia press officer Ulf Wallin is quoted as saying.
Police are investigating who made the threats, spokesman Peter Adlersson told the paper. Police presence was increased on the back of the threats, and two suspicious bags have been found.
There are reports of an explosion that went off in the domestic area of the airport, however this has not been verified.
It is thought the blast could have been a controlled explosion of the two suspicious bags by authorities.
